How many times have you read about a new product or some amazing idea and exclaimed out lout, “That was my idea.” It happens all of the time. We are gifted with tremendous ideas and then we let them sit on a shelf. We allow our little gremlin to talk us out of believing in the brilliance of the idea. Or worse, we let ourselves believe that we are not capable of making the idea come to life.
That is the gremlin’s job, to subtract our faith in ourselves and keep us from being adventurous or risk takers.
Here’s another little known secret. You cannot have faith in a Higher Power and not have faith in yourself. Another way to put it is, you have as much faith in a Higher Power or Higher Being as you have in yourself. It is, by-the-way, the extent to which how the work of the Divine gets done.
Every single thing we experience begins with an idea. Every single thing we have or ever will have will begin with an idea. Ideas come to fruition when we believe in them and take action. When we follow the divine cues of the universe that begin to appear rather than our negative self talk, we will uncover a pathway to follow.
“What holds most people back isn’t the quality of their ideas, but the lack of faith in themselves” noted Russell Simmons in one of his daily Tweets of wisdom.
Take another look at those ideas. Dust them off, refresh them. If they are already in the marketplace or if their time has passed, open yourself to new ideas. Find out what a little more faith in you can do. If not, it will not be long before you’ll be yelling at an infomercial late one night “That was my idea.”
Make it an empowering week.
Empowering question of the week: How much faith do you have in yourself and how does it show up in your life?
Bonus Question: How many times have you seen a product or service in the marketplace and said, “That was my idea”?
